OPEN CANNABIS RESEARCH / LABORATORY FIELD NOTES

A laboratory. Built from curiosity.

A real, independently constructed botanical research space. Follow the photographs, decisions, diagrams, and questions behind its creation.

Our purpose

Questions before conclusions.

Open Cannabis Research exists to document the process of learning: how plants grow, how environments shape development, and how scientific explanations are tested against observation. We distinguish what we measure from what we infer—and what remains unknown.

From Seed to Maturity: A First-Time Deep Water Culture Study

Planned · Pre-start readiness review

An exploratory, single-plant observational study designed to develop measurement discipline and investigate plant development in a deep water culture environment.

With one plant and no control group, this project cannot establish generalizable causal effects. Its value lies in systematic observation, honest documentation, and the questions it generates.

Study overview
“The integrity of the observation matters more than whether the experiment confirms our expectations.”
